and regarding all other points : OK, Great, this is moving forward fast ![]()

and what I get as a result (date not filled in) :
I thought you were talking about what was imported from the iCal event to mobilizon not from mobilizon to the import tool. Actually you were absolutely right there was a bug with the english date format. The date should now be read whatever the user locale and timezone.

I don’t know about the mobilizon front-end but you can from the import tool. I think it makes sense for a user to publish under his own identity without group.
Hi, I make here a quick recap of what remains unsolved from all above :
Linebreaks on ical after importer action :
I understand that it is a complex topic, and may be there could be a solution by changing the code for breaklines in order to solve this… if this solution is wanted…
Importing event from mobilizon (duplication in fact) :
I confirm that the importing of an event from mobilizon is now working, with the correct date and hours, EXCEPT WHEN there is no hours defined (all day event) : the importer decides it is from 12am to 11:59am (which is not possible by the way)
Extra Suggestion : if on an event page, there would be a button : “duplicate this event into my group” that could be very useful and much shorter than opening the importer and pasting the url. This would be more regarding an integration within mobilizon (do you think it would be useful @Lahax ? ).
In the end, these are now smaller issues, and we can say that the main question “event importer from facebook into mobilizon” is globaly solved… I wait for your answers on the two points above and it will be probably time to close this successful topic ![]()
Hi @Nicotourist,
I confirm that the importing of an event from mobilizon is now working, with the correct date and hours, EXCEPT WHEN there is no hours defined (all day event) : the importer decides it is from 12am to 11:59am (which is not possible by the way)
Could you give me an example so I can see what’s the date format for all day events ?
Other requests are relative to Mobilizon not the import tool.
Hello!
The line break issue in ICS is logged in the git: ICS feed text too dense (no line break) (#1502) · Issues · Kaihuri / Mobilizon · GitLab
We haven’t worked on it yet but it’s on the to do.
I don’t get the point to “duplicate into my group”, have you tried to change the organizer? Maybe it’s not intuitive enough but if you have created an event on your personal profile by mistake, you can change the organizer to your group and it will instantly show on your group page.
Great for the ongoing line break issue,
and “duplicate into my group” is just a way of saying that I want to post in my group a copy of an event already existing somewhere, published by someone I may not know. (as in Comment partager dans mon propre groupe un événement vu ailleurs sur mobilizon? - #3 par Nicotourist )
Hi @dindy, Here is an example of such an event imported with weird hours when it is supposed to be all day :
Hi @Nicotourist, could you give me the reference (the URL) of this specific event you tried to import ?
Hi @Nicotourist @dindy It seems like you are talking about exporting data from Mobilizòn to some other system or tool. Is that correct?
If so, since this is a Mobilizòn forum it might be better to use the term exporting. Exporting of course will use the same GraphQL API as importing, but it carries considerably less risk, so using that word might make people more comfortable.
It might also be better to have a separate topic for this, if I’m right that this is about exporting and not about importing from Facebook.
@rationali It’s about importing from Mobilizon to Mobilizon ![]()
@Nicotourist I did some tests. It looks like when you create a Mobilizon event without hours (full day event) the page that is served to the import tool (a dedicated page for bots I guess) has hours appeared out of nowhere. So I guess that’s a bug that should be reported on Mobilizon repository.
In Mobilizon you can display hours or not - but not clear them. There are always hours registered in the event. From the top of my mind, start time is the current time and end time is +3 hours.
It works within Mobilizon but is weird in the ICS and when sharing with other tools. It has been like that from the start, I don’t know what a good solution would be, but clearly it’s an area to be improved.
Thanks @Lahax for the clarification. Maybe a solution could be to set hours from 00:00 to 23:59 or to omit hours in the date. I think the second option is the standard both for the json ld and the iCal format.
Wouldn’t that be federation ? We desperately need to make that work.
Hi, Since most of the issues have been solved, I propose to close the topic, if that is ok with you
I understand that it is a complex topic, and may be there could be a solution by changing the code for breaklines in order to solve this… if this solution is wanted…
As far as I understand, the side issues are taken into account in some other feature/bug request, and if not it will be good to create a new topic for clarity.
So if nobody answers this again I propose to close this topic.
