Migrating from 4.1.1 to last

Hi, I have an old instance of peertube 4.1.1 in container which now has 30 users, around 900 videos on 550GB of disk space.
Is it possible to install a new version on a new server and migrate everything to it? Standalone or container

Thank you,
Giorgio

Yes, it should be feasible but note that you’ll have to keep the same domain name for your instance on the new server. Back up the database first and restore it prior to launching peertube on the new instance.

Personally, I would install 4.1.1 on the new server and upgrade to current after the transfer.

Good morning,
in the end I performed a different procedure that I think could be useful to others too.
I cloned the VM with 4.1.1, pointing it directly by modifying the /etc/hosts file of my PC. Then I updated version after version by going to the docker registry to get the individual versions and applying all the changes described in the release notes. The path I followed is:
4.2->4.3->5.0->5.1->5.2->6.0->6.0.1->6.1->6.2->6.3->7->7.0.1
For each update I performed a snapshot just in case…
