And in the French translation of these captions, the entire text corresponding to the Welsh text, is entirely fabricated. For example, the text « Can you say something about the language, is it objective C, is it Swift, is it easy to build, that sort of thing » has ended up in the French captions as « Qu’est-ce que le temps ? Est-il un concept absolu ou relatif ? Dans la science, est-il absolu ou relatif ? » which means « What is time? Is it an absolute or relative concept? In science, is it absolute or relative? ». It would be good if PeerTube automatically detected the non-English (or obvious random statistical nonsense from the training data) transcription, and flagged it to the video owner for review. At that point, they could either confirm it (and so the translation proceeds in e.g. Welsh-French mode, not English-French, for that phrase), or manually correct the captioning.
This is a fairly obvious accessibility issue for both language barriers and hearing/auditory processing difficulties. (although obviously this is a FOSS project and I don’t expect a professional support!)
