Can't play videos in app

When I connect to peertube.no using the PeerTube app from Fdroid (version 1.0.4), the videos, thumbnails etc. are shown, but can’t be played.

When I try version 1.2.0 from Google Play, I can’t even connect to the server, reason: “The version of this platform is too old”. The version is 8.0.0-rc.1.

What can be the cause of this?

I forgot to mention: It works fine when using my account on another instance.
