Channels and videos missing on other instance

Why are my channels and videos not showing on other instances when not logged-in?

I recently started mirroring my open-source project’s YouTube channel onto PeerTube. I think this is especially important since last year YouTube became basically unusable to anyone who uses shared IP addresses to protect their internet traffic online (Tor, VPNs, etc). In general, I love PeerTube! But I’ve also been struggling to understand the oddities of PeerTube…

For example, if you view our BusKill user profile on its native instance, you see 1 channel and 12 videos

But if you view the exact same user profile on your neat.tube instance, then it shows 0 channels :frowning:

I’m assuming this is either a bug or a setting made to prevent an instance from showing another instance’s videos. If it’s a setting, I want to know if the relevant setting is made:

  1. On the instance where the user account lives (which prevents other instances from displaying its channels/videos)
  2. On the instance where the user account is viewed (which prevents the UI from showing other instance users’ channels/videos)

Can someone help me to understand why neat.tube doesn’t display the channel or videos for my user account on makertube.net, when not logged-in?

See also this thread asking the instance admin about this:

I can see your videos and channel on several of my instances:

BusKill - John Livingston (Peertube v7)
BusKill - YinY.org (Peertube v6)

Seems that the issue is on neat.tube.

Now that neat.tube is subscribed to makertube.net, those videos should appear as expected
