Discovery of Online Events Without Location

I have a user on gamenight.host who is hosting an online Poker Game. There is no physical location for the game. If a user is looking for events near them, these types of events do naturally show up without doing a combination of filtering « Online Events », delete location in search, etc. My plan is add a feature request to include « Online Events » by default in search results, with an option to exclude.

Is there a work around that I’m not aware of to get these online events into the results without having the end user jump through hoops? (which the end user isn’t going to do)

Hi Lance,

I think you’ve got a point here!

We haven’t really considered this use case and we have been asked to mostly promote physical events.
But I think a simple customization you could do is to add a button on homepage leading to : GameNight.Host - Mobilizon
They could access to online events in one click. What do you think?

Whatsoever, I think users should access to online events when the set toggle « online event = yes » without having to clear the location. I’ve created an issue for this, and hopefully we can implement it in the new version this year.:

Thanks, Lahax. Appreciate the suggestion and also that you will look into implementing this suggestion.

Hi Lahax, I’m the user. My new group is: West Allis Board Game Night

It says « No public upcoming events » but I do have the following public event upcoming: Poker Night (Beginners Welcome!) - Mobilizon

I’m just checking now, it shows upcoming events, but the one you linked is in the past by now
