Hi, I created a new Mobilizon instance, centered on a particular theme, and I want to federate it with others in order to get events that, although hosted elsewhere, are on the theme of mine. However, I do not wish to have all other events of the fediverse visible, at least not by default. How can I achieve that? Is there a « filter main page events by tag » option in the admin panel?

This is not yet possible, although I think it would be very, very good to have. It would also be heavy to develop.
And I’m not sure tags would do the job, because they are free text and are use differently by different people. Some people are also interested only in certain geographical areas.
I’ve been thinking of a way to fetch groups and events that are interesting, when you find them on other instances, and on the other way around that somebody creating an instance or a group could push it to other pre-federated instances.
I haven’t got far with that idea yet but I’m not over with it either.
I’m interested into any kind of feedbacks and ideas about how to implement that.

If this feature was integrated into Mobilizon, it would greatly help our project as well ! We’re also group with a specific interest and we will publish on our instance, but being able to fetch from other instances would be fantastic and greatly help us and others.
i opened up a feature request on Mobilizon’s issue tracker so this doesn’t get lost in the forums 
This was being requested for PeerTube (link in french) as well, it’s seemingly feasible but no one has picked up the job as of now.
