How to debug transcoding failure

I’m new to PeerTube. I uploaded two MP4 files. The first was 479 MB and transcoded fine. The second was 231 MB and failed to transcode. However, I didn’t receive any notification of the failure and I don’t know where to look for diagnostics. I’m not sure there is even any way to re-run transcoding in case the error was transient. I’ve searched the docs and FAQ.
