A user on my server https://gjer.no experienced that all the images he had included in an announcement (Hjemmelaga skinnprodukter til salgs) disappeared. I did see the images myself so I can confirm they were there.
The server is on Mobilizon version 5.2.0, and the only changes I’ve done after the announcement was created, is changing the default language and restarting Mobilizon.
Has anybody else experienced anything like this, or does anyone have an idea of what might be causing it?
Sadly we’ve had other cases of images disappearing, due to re-loading issues.
We’ll release a good fix in the upcoming version (5.2.3) but I’m not 100% sure it will solve your specific case, because even in 5.2.0 I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue on announcements. In case you end up finding how it happens and share how to reproduce, step by step, we’d be able to solve it.
I suggest you hold on for a bit and upgrade to 5.2.3 when it’s released (I would say end of march the latest).
Looks like the images are deleted after 2-3 days. I’ve tested this twice, and this is happening without me doing anything particular. The images are deleted from the media folder. I think I read something about a cleanup job in the Git issue I found? Do the case for announcements need a separate issue? Because I couldn’t find one.
OK then that’s something different. I use instance https://keskonfai.fr/ and I have announcements dating back to 2021 and their pictures are still there.
