I know that the PeerTube Mobile App was just recently released via crowdfunding, but I was curious:
Will there ever be a TV version of the App?
Even if PT just, instead of having an in-house, official Framasoft, Peertube Tv App, they outsource it, a la Lemmy.
There used to be two third-party ROKU apps (I forgot their names), that have since disappeared from the ROKU store.
I really hope TV version will happened, watching peertube with BrowseHere on my TCL TV is working, but not very pleasant.

What the year holds for the mobile application
The mobile application is an excellent way to facilitate the adoption of PeerTube by a wide audience. We now want to expand the audience to also include tablet and TV users.
We'll also allow you to connect to your PeerTube account, giving you access to all your subscriptions, likes, comments, history, notifications, settings and playlists.
By the end of the year, you'll be able to play your videos in the background, stream them from your phone to your "smart" TV (initially Android; Apple TVs will take a bit more work) and receive notifications. The video player will also be improved.
For content creators, it will be possible to upload and manage your videos, start a live broadcast and manage your channels directly from the application!
I guess hope it’s in the pipeline.
I really want an Apple TV app. I want to comfortably watch PeerTube hosted videos on Apple TV. That would be my big dream.
@Chocobozzz hey, is there any updates regarding a tvos app?
If there’s nothing nearing completion already, I was thinking of could try to make the app myself, although I have very little swift experience so idk how doable it would be. What have been the main issues preventing a tvos app so far? Thanks!

Hey, just wanted to come back to this thread with my app PeerTV. It’s a native tvOS Peertube client. Here’s the link on the App Store
This application is open source on github, so by all means check it out and add requests for new features or bug fixes if you’d like. I plan to make adjustments in the future. Also, I recommend using it with my plugin to add a randomized video tab to your peertube instance. The PeerTV app has a setting that unlocks a special random video tab if you’re using that plugin on the instance.

Almost the only criticism: unfortunately only “recent” videos per instance, I would like to see all of them per instance.
Also, unfortunately, it’s not Open Source. I’m promoting you and you’re publishing the source code on GitHub? Is that a deal? I’m happy to pay $1 for the App Store version as I did before.
Unfortunately, “No tracking, no analytics” without a viewable source code is just a promise of trust.
I will release a new version with exploring whole instances and channels soon. I am right now looking into how to present that in a clean and understandable user experience. So any feedback on that is appreciated.
I didn’t even know that, but there is an open source Apple TV PeerTube client. I just found it now. So, a good alternative.
this client is a bit confusing, too many videos on the start screen.

Videos from different instances are mixed in the UI. In “The Morpheus” I see videos from Heise. See screenshot.
@Juanita these are good findings! I have never seen this behavior, but I think that might be federated instances shown in the list of one instance. I will check that!
edit yes, the federated instances were shown. The bug will be fixed soon!
