Sepia Search: Filter for Norwegian language

Why isn’t Norwegian part of the list of languages that can be filtered? Because I know there are videos with the language tag set to Norwegian.

Anyway, it would be greatly appreciated if it were added.

Hi,

Thanks! We added it.

I see that « Norsk nynorsk » and « Norsk bokmål » was added, but not « Norsk » (Norwegian).

The thing is, nynorsk and bokmål only make sense for written language. For the language that is spoken in the videos, it only make sense with Norsk/Norwegian, unless it’s a video of someone who reads a text in bokmål or nynorsk.

So I basically I always use the Norwegian language tag, like for instance here: Riksantikvarens åpningsdag - Riksantikvaren

Thanks, it should be fixed

Nice, thanks! But to complicate this even more, now I think the results that was actually tagged with « Norwegian bokmål » (correctly or not) are gone.

By the way, I think maybe I found a bug?

For this search (Norwegian content the last 30 days), result in 2 videos, but the are not visible. I have to add Filter by result type: « only videos », to make them visible.

Do you think we should remove Norsk nynorsk and Norsk bokmål from video language selection on PeerTube?

I think the three options should be kept. Even if few, there are some user cases where it makes sense to use Bokmål or Nynorsk. Also, in Norway, being able to choose is important, in consideration to both people’s feelings and politics.

For the search filter, it would be best to be able to chose between all three, and ideally allowing the « Norwegian » option to include results from Bokmål and Nynorsk, also. However, I understand that this may not be the easiest solution to implement.
