Vérification d'âge/Age verification

FR:
Bonjour !

Hello!

I’d like to know if it was possible to put an age verification on sensitive videos (in order to correctly comply with the regulations in force here)

If it’s not possible, I’d like to leave this as a suggestion

Thank you in advance for your reply and have a nice day!

Hi,

I invite you to create an issue on GitHub · Where software is built

Please describe a system that could be suitable for most countries. Would a system for the global PeerTube instance be better than having the popup for sensible videos only?

It seems like a commendable initiative, especially considering how politicians are keen on collecting (or rather, harvesting) our Personally Identifiable Information to manipulate us. Just take a look at the solutions from France and Great Britain; they are utterly devoid of any real privacy protections.

What I fear is that EU politicians may impose a specific solution that could be exploited to:

  1. Further manipulate voters towards the uneducated right-wing factions.
  2. Pressure and suppress individuals with particular beliefs.
  3. Silence dissent, leading to even greater censorship on the internet and obscuring knowledge on an unprecedented scale.

Thus, any solution proposed by Frama that genuinely prioritises privacy could quickly become a wasted effort. I’m not dismissing your suggestion outright; I still believe this is a parental responsibility, unlike in the US, where it often falls to someone else, and then you can sue them for every last penny, only to find nothing left to recover.

This text has been rewritten by Duck.ai due to my cataracts, a CloudFlare free solution.

I mean, yeah I believe that too but when I see that on the other side they are now condemning platform hosts, I admit that it’s scary, hence my suggestion to add a feature that allows this to be done (without necessarily storing personal information).

Stripe Identity seems like a good solution to me (even though I would have preferred not to use it at all. We are at a point where it’s almost necessary. At least, to me)
