Thank you! I’m going to start working on installation now.

Just upgraded!
Also upgraded underlying postgresql to the latest version (17.4).
No issues so far…
plse help new to political revolution & mobilizon. i registered an event for 3/19/25 on pol. rev. but i wanted to insert an image (table) & it failed. site- Be the pitchfork in the road-- so i found your site & downloaded the mobilizon 5.1.2 zip download but can’t figure out if it’s self extracting or what i need to do to get upgrades coordinated on the pol rev text/image block… can u help? thanks?
part 2- also, now that the event is live and being announced, it doesn’t let me back in to edit??
Hi Hope, and welcome!
So I’m a Mobilizon user just like you (although I have submitted some patches and things). Do you need guidance or help with upgrading?
As for events being editable I have noticed that on the prod instance I help maintain I can usually edit events, but sometimes there is an issue with this getting blocked. For our own instance here I suspect it’s a db performance issue, but I can’t conclusively say that it will be the same issue for you.
rationali- thank you so much for responding. i have published a protest march event (nashville, tn) on several sites & got it on Mobilizon which appears to have a good online setup and general format. but when i entered info in the text block, the image button fails to let me insert & concise table so it looks like a garbled mess on the web page [https://events.pol-rev.com/events/7946d0b5-227a-41ed-b775-a29e8c322b36]i emailed Mobilizon & they gave me NO info but texted me a link to this site. am a barely literate IT user (w/long background in health care)&, saw that there was an Mobilizon update v.5.1.2 so didn’t know what to download but decided to download the zip version for my W 2022 server. it downloaded fine. don’t know if it was supposed to self-insert into the protest site webpage (link above) & i don’t obviously have the brain cells/admin permission to manually update the site to fix the original « image button failure » issue. in fact, when i reopened the above link, i found that there is also a major problem in that there is no « edit » button??? wtf???! then my pc got the black-screen-of-death x hrs. now back up & finished MY webpage sites.google.com/u/0/new/?aut… but still want to fix the stuuuupid text block/image problem on Mobilizon link & don’t know it it’s even possible. thnk for listening to my rantings…have been up all night!
It looks like your instance is events.pol-rev.com, right? Is the email address you wrote to this one? info@pol-rev.com You can find out more about them using their website: https://pol-rev.com/
They, and only they, have access to the instance database, to help you sort out formatting. Did you also create a group? If so maybe one of us on the forum could join, and help with that.
FWIW the Mobilizon developers here in the forum are mostly based in France and Germany. I myself am in Swiss, and help run the instance at https://mobilisons.ch.
I don’t want to stretch myself too thin, but for basic things I am willing to provide some volunteer help with Pol-Rev especially on their Mobilizon installation.
Hi Hope, I’m not 100% sure I understand your issue, but I’ve been reported (and experienced!) that sometimes you can not edit your event if you have several profiles, even if you’re logged in with the correct profile.
This is due to browser refresh issues, so sometimes just pressing CTRL+F5 can help get around that bug and get the « edit » button.
It might address your issue, I’m not sure! It’s just a tip.
BTW thanks Mark for helping out
