Hello everyone. I have just heard about this community and PeerTube, and wanted to drop some info that may be of interest for the developers and users. Maybe many of you already know about it, but there is the possibility of monetize websites without bloating them with ads, using Coil (https://coil.com). As they put it in their own words:
" Coil uses an open API called Web Monetization in order to pay sites in real-time. This way, sites can securely provide rewards to any users who have Web Monetization enabled, creating a self-sustaining economy."
“Users sign up for Coil and pay a fixed monthly subscription. When they visit a supported website we donate to the creator on their behalf.”
At the time, sites like Youtube and Twitch are supported, and only a minimal script is needed in order to make it work. I though maybe this could be used to support this project and also lure users from YouTube presenting PeerTube as a better alternative that pays more to its users while keeping the place ad-free. Of course, at the moment there is few Coil suscriptors, but their userbase is growing everyday.
