Visualise Playlist as non-user, and password protected videos

I have recently got PeerTube running on my server (filmspace.lightcurvefilms.com/home), and it is beautiful. Many thanks for developing this. I was wondering about two things:

  • when I am logged on as a user on the instance, I can see the playlist overview: the description and thumbnail on the left, and the column with the videos on the right. The URL will be “https://filmspace.lightcurvefilms.com/my-library/video-playlists/NNNNN“, where NNNN is the code for the playlist. But, when I am NOT logged in as any user of the instance, I cannot get to that visualisation, I see the playlist with the first video in the player in the middle and the other videos to the right. I cannot see the description of the playlist. I would be great if a user can also navigate to a playlist like that?
  • when password protected, the video shows up as “private” when viewed by a non-user of the platform. Is that the idea? Would it not be more suitable to have the message “password protected” instead of private?

Thanks!

Yes, please see Public page to view elements of playlist · Issue #2672 · Chocobozzz/PeerTube · GitHub

Can you paste the URL of such video?

Thanks. I have to check the link you sent about the playlists presentation as a nonuser of the platform.

On the other question, I realise it was not quite accurate: the video does NOT show up under the overview of all the videos on the channel (https://filmspace.lightcurvefilms.com/c/livingthetraditionfilm/videos?sort=name), but it does show when added to the playlist I put it under (https://filmspace.lightcurvefilms.com/w/p/2urhj4KSaHX7MeUnM55aNB), but when I try to click on it, nothing happens, which is “normal”, as it is indicated as private.

Thanks

On the playlist visualisation question, I posted a comment on the Github link you sent: Public page to view elements of playlist · Issue #2672 · Chocobozzz/PeerTube · GitHub
