Future Peertube - AV1 encoded video livestream with Opus encoded audio

How far is Peertube from supporting livestreams with the most modern, Free codecs?
There are now hardware cards available specifically focused on AV1 encoding for media streaming.

What is needed to help Peertube support this? For example, would development on OBS (Open Broadcast Studio) help? What would be of most assistance?

It is perhaps too similar, but this thread also asks about Opus encoding for livestreaming too. Also, this thread enquires about what work is in progress towards this support. I can delete it if preferred.
